Understand the actual working of diac & triac.
Develop basic technical knowledge different switching circuit.
Identify different component use in circuit with pin configuration.
We should be able to test the output for different input.
Correct the error as per defect.
INTRODUCTION
 Battery charger are used to maintain the electrical charger
on a secondary cell battery.
 As a battery discharge ,the electrolyte in the battery
combines crystal formation.
 Battery charger reverse the chemical reaction which
creates the crystal, thus rejuvenating the battery.
 For a battery charger to work properly the charge voltage
must be the same as the battery voltage .
 Applying too much voltage to a battery will cause the
electrolyte to overheat , and will damage the battery.

WORKING / PROCEDURE
 Initially the input Ac (230V) supply is stepped down
to 15-0-15 V by step down transformer.
 The bridge wave rectifire (i.eD1-D4) gives the DC
supply .
 When cathode is held at discharge battery potentiai.
During each positive half cycle , potential ,so diode
D5 gets forward bias (ON) .
 Zener diode breakdown voltage shall be same rated
voltage. If zener diode , zener voltage is 12V then
battery charger upto 12V.

AIM AND OBJECTIVE NIT POLYTECHNIC NAGPUR (An NBAAccredited Institute) (DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING) Understand the actual working of diac & triac. Develop basic technical knowledge different switching circuit. Identify different component use in circuit with pin configuration. We should be able to test the output for different input. Correct the error as per defect.
  • 4. INTRODUCTION  Battery charger are used to maintain the electrical charger on a secondary cell battery.  As a battery discharge ,the electrolyte in the battery combines crystal formation.  Battery charger reverse the chemical reaction which creates the crystal, thus rejuvenating the battery.  For a battery charger to work properly the charge voltage must be the same as the battery voltage .  Applying too much voltage to a battery will cause the electrolyte to overheat , and will damage the battery. WORKING / PROCEDURE  Initially the input Ac (230V) supply is stepped down to 15-0-15 V by step down transformer.  The bridge wave rectifire (i.eD1-D4) gives the DC supply .  When cathode is held at discharge battery potentiai. During each positive half cycle , potential ,so diode D5 gets forward bias (ON) .  Zener diode breakdown voltage shall be same rated voltage.
