Question 6 - What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing your product?
1.
2. Technologies we’ve used in
media:
0 Photoshop
0 Google Chrome
0 Digital Video Camera
0 Voice Recorder
0 Final Cut
0 LiveType
0 Garageband
3. Photoshop
Photoshop is a program that can distort and
change images. There is multiple tools and
brushes, all of which create a different effect on
the image.
We used this when we created our movie poster
(direct right) and our company logo (above
right). As you can see, it’s not just existing
images that can be used. You can create images
and/or ions from using the tools.
4. Google Chrome
Google chrome is a web browser developed by Google.
It is significantly faster and better at blocking adverts /
pop-ups / viruses than internet Explorer.
We used this by researching existing media products, as
well as using it to find images for PowerPoint's / prezis.
5. Digital Video Camera
This was possibly the most
important piece of technology
we used. It was what we
captured our film clips
on, then exported them onto
final cut.
It is a piece of equipment that
allows you to capture images
around you, and makes it into
a small, compressed movie.
6. Voice recorder
This is another important
piece of equipment, as we
needed to overlay some
audio in our original
movie. This allowed us to
reduce the sound of the
wind, which was way too
loud, and focus solely on
the voice audio.
7. Final Cut Express HD
This is another important
piece of technology. This is
because we actually made
our movie by imputing the
clips into the software. It is
a video editing software
suite. It was developed by
Apple Inc., and is now
discontinued, in favor od
iMovie.
8. LiveType
LiveType is another video
software developed by
Apple Inc.. It is used mainly
for title sequences.
We used it to create our
titles and credits. It is
relatively easy to use, but
we had a couple of
incidents where we forgot
to render the background.
9. Garageband
This was the software I got to use
quite a lot. As the person
responsible for music, I had to
create a completely original
soundtrack for our movie.
I found it pretty easy to
use, especially when I figured out
how to overlay music on a
different layer.
It was developed by Apple Inc. and
is used primarily to create music or
backing tracks for singers / movies
/ TV.
