Empire Fellow, Nonprofit Coordination Unit (NCU)
Selected for competitive fellowship in which mid-career professionals are chosen to work alongside leaders in New York
State government to train for future government leadership responsibilities. Worked with team to write and distribute first of
its kind $100 Million Nonprofit Infrastructure Capital Investment Program (NICIP). NICIP awards were made to 237
organizations throughout the State. Personally reviewed over 70 NICIP applications. Analyze data from over 600
applications to determine NYS Nonprofit infrastructure needs. Coordinate with five other Division of Budget units the
Human Services Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). Ensure all NCU budget items are accurately inputted in Executive
Budget including COLA,NICIP,and the $25 million Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative. Monitor hundreds of
nonprofit related bills throughout the legislative session. Plan meetings for NYS Inter-Agency Council on Homelessness.
Conduct research on issues related to poverty reduction, homelessness and housing and hunger among other issues.

Empire Fellow
Coordinated eight events for Governor's "Film Good Do Good" initiative in which film productions volunteered with local
community based organizations throughout the State. Organized and spoke at 600 person "AmeriCorps New York Kickoff
Event" which included a service project, lunch and a formal ceremony. Re-wrote,re-organized and maintained Commission
Website, Facebook Page and Twitter Account receiving positive feedback from grantees. Created AmeriCorps RFP 'cheat
sheets' to make AmeriCorps RFP more understandable and accessible. Developed training program based on needs
assessment and recruited trainers for annual Program Directors training with over 80 programming and fiscal directors in
attendance.

Program Director, After School Enrichment and Summer Discovery Day Camp
Responsible for recruitment and supervision of up to 100 after school and summer day camp participants ages 5-11.
Recruited, trained and supervised over twenty staff members, interns and volunteers. Oversaw and planned for annual budget
of over $160K. Ensured compliance with DOH regulations and two programming grants. Participated in Neighborhood
Family Services Coalition Monthly Advocacy Committee Meetings.

Produced 5 legislative reports on current workplace safety issues in NYS. Drafted and helped to move workplace safety
related legislation, effectively seeing Workplace Violence in Juvenile Justice System legislation be signed into law. Emailed
