2. I. Introduction and Rationale
• Typical learning happens in the four corners of
the classroom. School- children listen as
teachers do their lecture of the subject matter in
a face-to-face scenario.
• But when a storm, typhoon, calamities,
especially a pandemic happens, what can
teachers do to still continue the teaching learning
process?
• The present COVID-19 pandemic has brought
extraordinary challenges and has affected the
educational sectors.
• Good thing, the BE-LCP paved the way for
continued teaching learning process.

• “Adoption of the Basic Education
Learning Continuity Plan for the
School Year 2020-2021 in Light of the
COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.”
• Under blended learning, media such
as television and radio are used as
alternative and additional vehicles of
education.
• Teachers were trained to become
“teacher-broadcasters” in July 2020,
during which the first DepEd TV and
DepEd Radio episodes were
produced.

Research Questions
The Division of Lanao del Norte is home to
20 teacher-broadcasters, video editors and
directors, and video lesson production staff
or known as DepEd TV LaNorte founded in
2020 for the purpose of producing video
lessons for the learners of Lanao del Norte.
These video lessons are being used to
supplement learning among Lanao del
Norte learners.
The general objective of the study is to find
out the correlation of educational videos
and the academic performance among
select Grade 4 learners of Maranding
Central Elementary School.
5. TIME LIMIT:
5 minutes
The specific objectives of the study are as follows:
1) To identify what types of benefits learners get from watching
educational videos.
2) What are the drawbacks or challenges encountered in watching the
educational videos?
3) To know the most preferred style and length of videos.
4) What could be done to improve the videos for the betterment of the
Grade 6 Learners in terms of video lessons as supplement to learning?

Scope and Limitations
This study has limitations. This study is
limited to Maranding Central Elementary
School in one district in Lala Central
District. The study may be less limited if it
followed sample students through their
schooling from Grade 4.

Research Methodology
A. SamplingThe respondents of the study will consist of the students (boys
and girls) currently studying in the Grade 4 level Maranding Central
Elementary School which is situated in the Municipality of Lala, Lanao
del Norte. The researchers wanted to select population where learners
have access to video lessons to scaffold their learning and to enhance
their knowledge in their academic activities.
B. Data Collection
The researchers will hand out questionnaires, with questions about the
students’ view of the video lessons that enhanced their learning of the
subjects in school, to the parents/ guardians during Module Distribution.
C. Ethical Issues
The researchers will not ask personal questions outside of the adapted
questionnaire but will focus on the students’ perception on video lessons
that enhance their knowledge on a subject matter.
D. Plan for Data Analysis
After giving out the questionnaires to both the teachers and the
learners, the researcher will then seek professional help from a
statistician to interpret the data on responses of the students and
teachers on the effects of video lessons to student performance.
