1. I was a primary and secondary education teacher.
2. I have been working for UNIMINUTO for five years.
3. Currently I am the head teacher of a students’ research group called
‘RELATE’ at UNIMINUTO.

14. Before class
a. Prepare materials beforehand e.g. readings,
microteachings, discussions, others.
b. Check teacher’s announcements on Moodle.
c. Find a place where you can keep interruptions and noise
at the very least when connecting to class.
d. Make sure there is internet connection on your device.
You are provided with microphone. There will be lots of
interactive activities.
e. Plan your agenda. When connecting to class, stay focus
to class.
15. During class
a. Get connected to class and leave on time.
b. Work cooperatively in breakout rooms.
c. Being connected is not evidence of being in class.
Participate.
d. Respect your classmates’ time and interventions.
e. Support your classmates when necessary.
f. Turn off your microphone when not participating.
g. Sometimes you will be asked to turn on cameras.
16. After class
a. Reflect on microteachings you teach. Use the forums
provided on Moodle.
b. Ask your teacher for tutoring in case it is necessary. Do
it a week before not a day before the class.
c. Check assignments and teacher’s messages on a daily
basis on Moodle.
d. Report any situation on time, not at the end of the
semester.
17. Medical issues and absence
a. Report your absence as soos as possible. When it
happens send justification and attach supports to

a. If absence is for medical issues, send your medical
support to Carolina Parra. caparra@uniminuto.edu and
also report the teacher the same day of class.
b. Sometimes absences are authorized and sometimes
they aren’t. Anyhow, all absences are considered
absences.
18. Final guidelines
a. Written assignments should be sent with effective
writing process.
b. Hand in assignments on time.
c. Prepare and rehearse microteachings in advance.
c. Moodle (virtual classroom) is updated on a daily basis.
d. Class recordings are available on Moodle, as well as,
resources, assignments and extra materials.
e. Use your academic email account to get connected or
communicate with the teacher.
f. Be always kind and respectful.
g. Quick unhealthy habits.

Activity:
Create a questionnaire on Google forms based on this chapter.
Formalate six reading comprehension questions. Avoid yes/no
questions. Check your grammar and spelling.
