The project aimed to study how the investigated triazole derivative controls the corrosion of mild steel in sulfuric acid solutions. The corrosion rates in absence and presence of different concentrations of inhibitor will be measured using weight loss and potentiodynamic polarization techniques. Also, the effect of inhibitor on surface morphology of carbon steel will be investigated using scanning electron microscope.

4. Corrosion causes many negative effects on our
daily life;
bridges may collapse, cars may lose control and
pipes may leak and lose carrying capacity.

6. Aim of our research
To study the efficiency of a new green inhibitor
the (4-amino-triazole-3-thiol) to control the
corrosion of carbon steel in acidic media

22. The Economical impact in Qatar:
Oil and gas constitute one of the most important
industries in Qatar and corrosion presents a big
challenge to them so it is very important to control the
corrosion process to reduce the economic loss.
23. Conclusion
Aminotriazole thiol is a highly efficient green inhibitor for
carbon steel specially at concentration higher than
0.5x10-3 M.
Aminotriazole thiol inhibition takes place via chemical
adsorption on steel surface as revealed from EDX
analysis.
