How the Internet of Things Supports the Connected Worker

Reinventing the In-Store Experience with the Retail Mobile App
In order to remain relevant, today’s retailers are reinventing the in-store experience by using their
existing ERP systems data and content in new ways to identify and connect with customers through
digital channels -- mainly mobile devices -- before, during and after the sale. Learn how the Retail
Assist mobile app helps store associates streamline the in-store experience, easily identify regular
or high value “opted in” customers as they walk in to the store via IoT technologies such as
beacons/wayfinding to ensure they receive the best service possible, leverage clienteling
capabilities to personalize offers, reward loyal shoppers, and offer more efficient service with the
latest digital inventory and concierge functions—all from a single mobile device.
The Retail Assist mobile app is fully integrated with Oracle Retail Merchandising System (ORMS)
v14.1. It uses Modular Platform APIs and API Management to enable connection to any backend
ERP systems to support the out-of-the-box mobile UI, e.g., existing Customer Hub or Customer
Relationship Management, Personalization/Recommendations Engine, Content Management,

Enable Better Buyers with the Mobile Merchant App
While today’s consumers buy based on what they see, a retailer’s buyers and planners may lack a
visual buying process to help them build out and finalize their assortment and buy plans. The Mobile
Merchant iOS mobile app is an extension to the retailer’s existing assortment planning tool that can
help buyers make more strategic decisions while at vendor markets. Because it integrates with a
retailer’s assortment planning, merchandising and business intelligence systems, a buyer can
submit new supplier setup requests to Financial/Accounts Payable, search the existing product
catalogue, add items and visual images of products seen at vendor markets to an assortment
plan/shopping list, view inventory and product and supplier performance metrics in real time or
create and submit purchase orders while in the market to lock products/quantities with suppliers or
secure limited quantity items.
The Mobile Merchant mobile app is fully integrated with Oracle Retail Merchandising System
(ORMS) v14.1. It uses Modular Platform APIs and API Management to enable connection to any
