3. Search the Moodle database.

4. Highlight names

5. Add individual into the chosen role

6. Remove an individual from a role. Manage a course population.

7. Assigning Roles First of all, log in, then go to your course page and click "Turn editing on" 1

8. Assigning Roles OR you will have a “Course Menu Block” instead A little way down the left hand side you will see eitherthe “Administration Block”. 1 1

9. Assigning Roles OR in the “Course Menu Block” Click on “Control Panel” In the “Administration Block”. either Click on Assign roles Then go to Slide No 9 Then go to the next slide 1 1

10. Assigning Roles Once you have clicked on “Control Panel” This window opens 1

11. Assigning Roles Click on “User Management” 1

12. Assigning Roles This window opens Now click on “Assign Roles” 1

13. Assigning Roles This window opens Now click below on the role you would like to assign 1

14. Assigning Roles To add or withdraw students, click on the word "student" in blue in the roles column... You can see that 45 students are currently enrolled to this course 1

15. Assigning Roles Click on “Remove” and the person will be removed from its role in the course To withdraw a student or person from a given role, you need to highlight their name 1 2

16. Assigning Roles Click on “Search” To add a student or person in a given role, you type their name here When nobody is assigned in the role yet, the window looks like this. 1 2

17. Assigning Roles Click on “Add” Highlight their name 1 2

18. Assigning Roles Their name has now appeared. Repeat the process to add more students 1

19. Assigning Roles Highlight the new role you would like to assign to Click on “Role to assign” Click on “Assign Role in Course” When you have populated your course 1 2 3
