To start a Twitter account for students: 1. Go to www.twitter.com and set up an account, using your nickname if desired. 2. Click through the steps to finish setting up your account. 3. You can add your cell phone number to get alerts, but check the texting costs first.

4. Just Finish.

5. Click on Home.

6. This is your Twitter home.
Click on Setting

7. Add more account information.
Don’t check
this!
Click on Save. Then open the Device tab.

8. You can put your cell phone number to get
alerted (on assignments, etc.).
Please make sure to check the cost of
texting with your cell phone before putting
the number here.

9. Back to Home
Click on Find People

10. Click on Find on Twitter

11. Type your teachers name
Click on Search.

12. Click on Username

13. Click on Follow

14. Back to Home:
Any message you write here will be posted publicly
(after clicking on Update).
You can write a message to people on the
Internet, but your instructor will not receive it
in his inbox (because he is not “following” you
yet).
