The document reports on a study that examined factors related to caregiver burden for those caring for patients with dementia. It provides characteristics of the patients and caregivers in the study. Various scales were used to measure stressors like problem behaviors; outcomes like psychological wellbeing and depression; mediators like social support and mastery; and moderators like caregiver gender. Results showed problem behaviors were correlated with poorer psychological wellbeing and depression. Caregiver gender moderated the relationship between problem behaviors and psychological wellbeing, with a stronger effect for female caregivers. Social support and religious faith also mediated the relationships between stressors and outcomes.
