ARE YOU WRITING A SCIENTIFIC PAPER?
Dr.T.V.Rao MD Scientific experiments are demanding, exciting endeavours, but, to have an impact,
results must be communicated to others. A research paper is a method of communication, an
attempt to tell others about some specific data that you have gathered and what you think those
data mean in the context of your researchyou are expected to share your research work with others
in various forms. Probably the most demanding of these forms is the paper published in a scientific
journals, Many of us are eager to write and publish than do anything in the laboratories, India has
many qualified professionals and hundreds and thousands to post graduate students who are
compelled to publish in science and medicine journals, with the decision of MCI in 2010 all the
Medical post graduates to be able publish their work and get credited for grading in post graduate
examinations. I have seen some teachers who have no idea about basic teaching have crept up and
were talking about research, If we go into the inside of the departments, the great problem with
many post graduate students in the era of privatization and as well in many government institutions
with lack of infrastructure, have become manipulators of science and many crazy publications have
erupted, and equally fake publishers erupted on Internet, anything can be dumped to get
creditability as publisher, soon it lead to litigations, complaints about faking the spurious research,
soon came the estimation of creditability of you research with many parameters In fact, the number
of papers you publish and their importance as suggested by their impact factor are often viewed as a
reflection of your scientific achievements. Writing high-quality scientific papers takes time, but it is
time well invested. As we may have noticed, however, many scientific papers fail to usefully
communicate research work to their audience. They focus on the authors instead of on the readers
by failing to clarify the motivation for the work or by including unnecessary details. If we search the
Internet, there are advertisements some are willing to give you or make you a PhD. Scholar, and pay
and get culture developed in India faster than many countries, many started to impress the
administrators, for the sake of promotions and failed to impress the readers. As a result, they are
interesting to or understandable by only a small set of highly specialized readers. Effective scientific
papers, in contrast, are interesting and useful to many readers, including newcomers to the field.
Today even the hard copies of the scientific journals are accumulating dust in our Libraries, and
doubt few people to touch the journals Internet makes you think all is well with a click of a mouse,
the new generation of professionals should realise to reach their goals, papers must aim to inform,
not impress. They must be highly readable — that is, clear, accurate, and concise. They are more
likely to be cited by other scientists if they are helpful rather than cryptic or self-centred. Today all
spurious papers have lot of stunning facts and if I observe many who say were famous researchers
have never sat in the laboratories for even 30 minutes, just sitting in arm chair, the research is
created however it will certainly will be observed by many around, and we are helpless.Academic
plagiarism is rising in India. A lack of oversight and a lack of proper training for scientists have
created the rise of plagiarism and research misconduct in India. India does not have a statutory body
to deal with scientific misconduct in academia, like the Office of Research Integrity in the US, and
hence cases of plagiarism are often dealt in ad-hoc fashion with different routes being followed in
different cases. In most cases, a public and media outcry leads to an investigation either by
institutional authorities or by independent enquiry committees. The authors responsible for
plagiarism have been at the receiving end of some severe punishments including suspension,
removal and demotion. However, no fixed route has been prescribed to monitor such activities. This
has led to calls for establishment of an independent ethics body.( Ref -Wikipedia) Recently we have
seen young Professionals faking research and writing about the diseases which never existed in the
hospital or in the locality they work or inthe hospital records. Never forget the information is viral if
not immediately you will get caught soon, please visit the article on Scientific plagiarism in India in
Wikipedia, how famous people are caught in the wrong doing. "There is a blatant copying going on in
the field of research work and those who are doing it actually forgetting the principles of the
academics. Today we have created volume of Professionals and totally diluting the moral
values.Students might misrepresent a source because they don’t understand it, or don’t know how
to weave it in with their own thoughts, panel. And open-source culture, where facts and thoughts
easily can be “plucked” from webpages on internet, makes the facts misrepresented. Many
publications and publishers are under the scanner, if you are caught you are discredited for life
losing the respect from colleagues and students, I think it is timely decision that Medical Council of
India is considering to abolish the criteria of publications as eligibility to get promoted and Internet
as source of encouraging the fake publications for little price. More papers you have published
indicates that you published more thanwhat you have done anything in the Laboratory. (Ref –

Probably the most demanding of these forms is the paper published in a scientific journals, Many of us are eager to write and publish than do anything in the laboratories, India has many qualified professionals and hundreds and thousands to post graduate students who are compelled to publish in science and medicine journals, with the decision of MCI in 2010 all the Medical post graduates to be able publish their work and get credited for grading in post graduate examinations. I have seen some teachers who have no idea about basic teaching have crept up and were talking about research, If we go into the inside of the departments, the great problem with many post graduate students in the era of privatization and as well in many government institutions with lack of infrastructure, have become manipulators of science and many crazy publications have erupted, and equally fake publishers erupted on Internet, anything can be dumped to get creditability as publisher, soon it lead to litigations, complaints about faking the spurious research, soon came the estimation of creditability of you research with many parameters In fact, the number of papers you publish and their importance as suggested by their impact factor are often viewed as a reflection of your scientific achievements. Writing high-quality scientific papers takes time, but it is time well invested. As we may have noticed, however, many scientific papers fail to usefully communicate research work to their audience. They focus on the authors instead of on the readers by failing to clarify the motivation for the work or by including unnecessary details. If we search the Internet, there are advertisements some are willing to give you or make you a PhD. Scholar, and pay and get culture developed in India faster than many countries, many started to impress the administrators, for the sake of promotions and failed to impress the readers. As a result, they are interesting to or understandable by only a small set of highly specialized readers. Effective scientific papers, in contrast, are interesting and useful to many readers, including newcomers to the field. Today even the hard copies of the scientific journals are accumulating dust in our Libraries, and doubt few people to touch the journals Internet makes you think all is well with a click of a mouse, the new generation of professionals should realise to reach their goals, papers must aim to inform, not impress. They must be highly readable — that is, clear, accurate, and concise. They are more likely to be cited by other scientists if they are helpful rather than cryptic or self-centred. Today all spurious papers have lot of stunning facts and if I observe many who say were famous researchers have never sat in the laboratories for even 30 minutes, just sitting in arm chair, the research is created however it will certainly will be observed by many around, and we are helpless.Academic plagiarism is rising in India. A lack of oversight and a lack of proper training for scientists have created the rise of plagiarism and research misconduct in India. India does not have a statutory body to deal with scientific misconduct in academia, like the Office of Research Integrity in the US, and hence cases of plagiarism are often dealt in ad-hoc fashion with different routes being followed in different cases. In most cases, a public and media outcry leads to an investigation either by institutional authorities or by independent enquiry committees. The authors responsible for plagiarism have been at the receiving end of some severe punishments including suspension, removal and demotion. However, no fixed route has been prescribed to monitor such activities. This has led to calls for establishment of an independent ethics body.( Ref -Wikipedia) Recently we have seen young Professionals faking research and writing about the diseases which never existed in the hospital or in the locality they work or inthe hospital records. Never forget the information is viral if not immediately you will get caught soon, please visit the article on Scientific plagiarism in India in
  • 2. Wikipedia, how famous people are caught in the wrong doing. "There is a blatant copying going on in the field of research work and those who are doing it actually forgetting the principles of the academics. Today we have created volume of Professionals and totally diluting the moral values.Students might misrepresent a source because they don’t understand it, or don’t know how to weave it in with their own thoughts, panel. And open-source culture, where facts and thoughts easily can be “plucked” from webpages on internet, makes the facts misrepresented. Many publications and publishers are under the scanner, if you are caught you are discredited for life losing the respect from colleagues and students, I think it is timely decision that Medical Council of India is considering to abolish the criteria of publications as eligibility to get promoted and Internet as source of encouraging the fake publications for little price. More papers you have published indicates that you published more thanwhat you have done anything in the Laboratory.
