2. Question 1 From this I can see that Pop and Rock are the most popular. As the song I have chosen is a pop song, this will be appealing to my audience.
3. Question 2 Most of the people who carried out my questionnaire were aged between 15-20 years old. However, I know this is a popular age range to aim my music video towards and as this was my initial idea, my results are based around y specific age range.
4. Question 3 The main result shows that most people prefer the music video to tell a story through the lyrics, therefore it would be appropriate to tell a story through the lyrics of my chosen song to be attentive to the audiences opinion.
5. Question 4 According to my results, the song is the biggest aspect of the music video and therefore maybe I could base the video around the song. This is relevant again to previous question on preferred music video.
6. Question 5 As most video’s are watched through the television, I would have to make my video to the standard of those that are currently on television.
7. Question 6 This information helps my research because it would be involved in the ‘sales’ on my music video.
9. Question 8 This would help my overall making of my music video because it affects how I my music video would have to appeal to the audience.
10. Question 9 This question was open ended to the audience. I asked ‘What is your favourite music video?’ I did this because if I knew of some popular music videos, I could view and analyse them to gather ideas for my own video. However, my audience mostly didn’t answer this question, not being able to pinpoint their favourite video at the time. This affected my results, but if I had the opportunity, I still wouldn’t change this question because of the information and ideas I received from viewing the videos.
11. Question 10 This was again an open ended question related to Question 9. This time I simply asked ‘Why?’ I asked this because if I thought it was relevant knowing what exactly appealed to my audience and to take this into consideration when planning. However, this again was frequently unanswered meaning I couldn’t show any particular results, but giving me a better understanding of a music video and the components involved in creating a music video.
12. Conclusion By creating a questionnaire based around the preferable components of a music video I received an overview of what to include in my music video and what bits are considered important in a video, such as the song or artist. Whilst some questions were more informative than others, I think all my questions justified my results and I feel confident that I can make a successful music video based around my results.
