12. Exceeding expectations in the financial sector
A leading bank knew that to stay competitive in this high-tech business
environment, they had to update their core IT systems. By studying the bank’s
system and processes, TCS consultants concluded that the bank needed a
centralized IT infrastructure, which would require customized software, a new
core system and ongoing operational support.
Working closely with our client, we converted 3,300 branches to the new IT system
through TCS BaNCS. The conversion was so successful that the bank immediately
decided to convert its 6,700 remaining branches to TCS BaNCS.
The system we implemented achieved all the bank’s desired results, including:

A leading personal care company, with a number of high-profile consumer brands
had been steadily expanding around the globe. As it grew through mergers and
acquisitions, its IT systems had become fragmented, costly and inefficient.
As the lead partner, TCS streamlined all the disparate systems, developing a company-
wide IT management and delivery program. Bringing in specialized teams to provide
24/7 end-to-end technical support, we identified and fixed incident-prone system
components, improving system stability and reliability. We then established dedicated
TCS service centers in key locations, followed by a centralized, multi-lingual Global
Service Desk to support them.
