“Allah did confer a great favor on the Believers when He
sent among them a Messenger from among themselves,
rehearsing unto them the Signs of Allah, sanctifying
them and instructing them in Scripture and Wisdom,
while before that, they had been in manifest error.”
(Qur’an: Aali ‘Imran: 3: 164)

““Educate (nurture) your children upon three things:Educate (nurture) your children upon three things:
[1] To Love your Prophet (s.a.w.),[1] To Love your Prophet (s.a.w.),
[2] And to love the Family members of his household[2] And to love the Family members of his household

 Acquire those knowledge from theAcquire those knowledge from the Qur’anQur’an andand As-As-

especially on obligatory matters. In this way, weespecially on obligatory matters. In this way, we
diminish our ‘intellectual ego’ from being conceited,diminish our ‘intellectual ego’ from being conceited,
for most of us forget that “for most of us forget that “to follow is not merely toto follow is not merely to
know and narrate, but to act upon his teachings inknow and narrate, but to act upon his teachings in

“The Prophet is closer to the Believers than their own
selves, and his wives are their mothers.
(Qur’an: Ahzab: 33: 6)

““Say: ‘If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers,Say: ‘If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers,
your mates, or your kindred; the wealth that ye haveyour mates, or your kindred; the wealth that ye have
gained; the commerce in which ye fear a decline; or thegained; the commerce in which ye fear a decline; or the
dwellings in which ye delight― are dearer to you thandwellings in which ye delight― are dearer to you than
Allah or His Messenger or the striving in His cause;Allah or His Messenger or the striving in His cause;
then wait until Allah brings about His decision’: andthen wait until Allah brings about His decision’: and

 People who claim to be in love, may be deluded, whenPeople who claim to be in love, may be deluded, when
they impose their personal likes and dislikes; theirthey impose their personal likes and dislikes; their
priorities; their choices and preferences etc. rather thanpriorities; their choices and preferences etc. rather than
that of their “that of their “beloved’sbeloved’s” likes/dislikes, choices,” likes/dislikes, choices,
preferences etc.preferences etc.
 Some feel as though we ‘Some feel as though we ‘lovelove’ the Prophet s.a.w. but the’ the Prophet s.a.w. but the
more pertinent concern should be to consider, “more pertinent concern should be to consider, “howhow

 Generally we should first confirm his Prophethood, obeyGenerally we should first confirm his Prophethood, obey
his commands and prohibitions; support, help andhis commands and prohibitions; support, help and
protect him, reviving, practicing, teaching and spreadingprotect him, reviving, practicing, teaching and spreading
his Sunnah; invite all to Allah, to the Book of Allah andhis Sunnah; invite all to Allah, to the Book of Allah and
ways of Allah’s messenger; inculcate in ourselves hisways of Allah’s messenger; inculcate in ourselves his
noble characteristics and Adab.noble characteristics and Adab.

““O Allah! Grant us the love for You, and the love for YourO Allah! Grant us the love for You, and the love for Your
Messenger Muhammad s.a.w., and the love towards whoeverMessenger Muhammad s.a.w., and the love towards whoever
has love for You, and make us to love doing every deeds whichhas love for You, and make us to love doing every deeds which
can bring us towards Your Nearness, and make us to love Youcan bring us towards Your Nearness, and make us to love You
more than our love for cool (drinking) water.”more than our love for cool (drinking) water.”

 We do not claim to fully know the wisdom and benefitWe do not claim to fully know the wisdom and benefit
of it, but certainly this invoking Allah’s blessing uponof it, but certainly this invoking Allah’s blessing upon
Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. has considerable benefits for usProphet Muhammad s.a.w. has considerable benefits for us
when Allah commands us.when Allah commands us.
