- 18. Fasting in Islam is amongst the forms of devotion that provides
Muslim with necessary training in the exercise of self-denial, so that
he may become truly “Muslim” - one who is able to submit himself to
the will of Allah.

- 19. Month of Ramadhan was chosen by Allah for Muslims to
observe the daily fasting – the whole month.
Exceptions are those who are sick, on a journey, the insane,
infants etc.
For every fast missed, it is to be re-paid by fasting in other
months – or if unable, then to feed the poor or indigent as ransom
(FID-YAH).
