etiquette, propriety, social grace, to educate, discipline, the
humanities, etc.” sense of proportion and knowledge of their rightful
place in the order of things, the absence of which indicates injustice

maintaining [creation] in justice (QISTw). There is no
deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

“ (Allah) Who has made the earth a resting-place for
you and the sky a canopy, and has sent down water
from the sky and thereby brought forth fruits for your
sustenance: do not, then, claim that there is any power
that could rival Allah, when you know [that He is One].”

And [mention] when your Lord took from the children
of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and
made them testify of themselves, [saying to them],
"Am I not your Lord?"
They said, "Yes, we have testified."

Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware."

Faith without obedience is meaningless; and obedience without Faith is
mere rituals and may even lead to hypocrisy.
Together, Faith and Obedience must lead to Righteousness with IHSAN
which essentially focus in our intention to sincerely serve Allah s.w.t.
Thus, in these three aspects can one be said to be true in his submission
to the Will of Allah (as Muslim).

“And [tell them that] I have not created the invisible
beings and men to any end other than that they may
[know and] worship Me. [But withal,] no sustenance do
I ever demand of them, nor do I demand that they feed
Me: for, verily, Allah Himself is the Provider of all
sustenance, the Lord of all might, the Eternal!”
(Qur’an: Dzariyat: 51: 56-58)

allies: so fear them not, but fear Me (KHAA-FUU-N), if you
are [truly] believers!”

“Say: “Allah alone do I worship, sincere in my faith in Him
alone -and [it is up to you, O sinners, to] worship
whatever you please instead of Him!”
Say: “Behold, the [true] losers will be they who shall have
lost their own selves and their kith and kin on
Resurrection Day: for is not this, this, the [most] obvious
loss?”
(Qur’an: Zumar: 39: 14-15)

“Clouds of fire will they have above them, and [similar]
clouds beneath them…” In this way does Allah imbue His
servants with fear (KHAUF). O you servants of Mine! Be,
then, conscious of Me seeing that for those who shun the
powers of evil lest they [be tempted to] worship them,
and turn unto Allah instead, there is the glad tiding [of
happiness in the life to come]. Give, then, this glad tiding
to [those of] My servants”
(Qur’an: Zumar: 39: 16-17)

 Among the natural instinct (FITRAH) in mankind is that of “Fear”.
 This is especially important for self-preservation, or in matters
which propel him avoid whatever is harmful or dangerous. Yet,
often fear can make a person to cowardly submit to falsehood or
imaginings and not to the truth or to Allah (the One Whom
mankind ought to fear).
 Thus TAUHEED with the knowledge of Who Allah is, Islam
teaches Muslims to remove the misplaced fear of others, but
channel them to Allah and heed the warnings He gave, so that
man can seek His Mercy before it is too late.

 Because of Allah’s justice, man must be warned that their actions
in this life can bring many adverse consequences or harm and
severe punishments, albeit, delayed or even in another life.
 The fear of Allah, is in fear of His Wrath – the outcome of His
Justice. Yet, mankind generally is fearful of worldly things which
are temporal and inconsequential whereas the Reality of the
warning regarding that in the Hereafter is most severe and
eternal.

 Only those who succumb to fear of Allah and this ultimate truth
of the Akhirah and make amends and motivated to seek
reparation while in this life of their sins- will have these evil
consequences averted from them.

 We are constantly reminded that it is Allah that ultimate decides
our fate. Alas, many are deceived to be fearful of others even to the
extent of being disobedient to Allah. Whereas Allah reminds us:

Say: "Never can anything befall us save what Allah has
decreed! He is our Lord Supreme; and in Allah let the
believers place their trust!“
(Qur’an: Taubah: 9: 51)

“But for such as fear (KHAAFA) the time when they will
stand before (the Judgment Seat of) their Lord, there will
be two Gardens-”
(Qur’an: Ar-Rahman :55: 46)

“ And for such as had entertained the fear (KHAAFA) of standing
before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul
from lower desires, Their abode will be the Garden.”
(Qur’an: An-Naaziat :79: 40-41)

“ Nay,-whoever submits His whole self to Allah and is a doer of
good,- He will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear
(LAA-KHAUFUN) , nor shall they grieve (LAA-YAH-ZA-NUUN).”

KHASHI-YA

“HAD WE bestowed this Qur’an from on high upon a
mountain, thou wouldst indeed see it humbling itself,
breaking asunder for awe of Allah (KHASH-YA-TILLAAH).
And [all] such parables We propound unto men, so that
they might [learn to] think.”
(Qur’an: Hashr: 59: 21)

 The meaning of “KHASHIYA” means a sense of “awe” which is
linked to the knowledge of the grandeur and majesty of Allah
s.w.t. such that one becomes humbled and with reverence,
shame and dread which cause us to “melt ” into being totally
insignificant.
 This attitude or inner feeling, is the outcome of profound
knowledge and realization of how “awesome” , an amazement
or wonder in our being after true meaning the signs (AAYAT )
we ‘read’ propel us to glimpse the Exaltedness and
Almightiness of Allah, the Creator, Sustainer of the entire
universe.

“ART THOU NOT aware that Allah sends down water from the
skies, whereby We bring forth fruits of many hues - just as in
the mountains there are streaks of white and red of various
shades, as well as (others) raven-black, and (as) there are in
men, and in crawling beasts, and in cattle, too, many hues?
Of all His servants, only such as are endowed with [innate]
knowledge stand [truly] in awe of Allah (YAKH-SHALLAAH):
[for they alone comprehend that,] verily, Allah is almighty,
much-forgiving.”
(Qur’an: Fatir: 35: 27-28)

“Would you, perchance, fail to fight against people who have
broken their solemn pledges, and have done all that they could to
drive the Messenger away, and have been first to attack you? Do
you hold them in awe (TAKH-SHAU)? Nay, it is Allah alone of whom
you ought to stand in awe (TAKH-SHAU), if you are [truly]
believers!.”

(Qur’an: Taubah: 9: 13)
“Today, those who are bent on denying the truth have lost all hope of
[your ever forsaking] your religion: do not, then, hold them in awe, but
stand in awe of Me (WAKH-SHAU-N)! Today have I perfected your
religious law for you, and have bestowed upon you the full measure of My
blessings, and willed that self-surrender unto Me shall be your religion..”
(Qur’an: Maa-idah: 5: 3)

 Our tendency to be impressed, awestruck etc. from our
knowledge and conviction of someone or something, is natural
and inevitable. Just like “KHAUF” , it is meant to be directed
towards realization of Allah, the One Who deserves our
attention.
 Yet, because many do not go beyond the signs and the physical
or mundane to connect it with the Divine, it is possible for
them to only be amazed only in these signs. Some even deny
Allah.
 These are mentioned by Allah as warning :

“And We have certainly created for Hell many
of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts
with which they do not understand, they have
eyes with which they do not see, and they
have ears with which they do not hear. Those
are like livestock; rather, they are more
astray. It is they who are the heedless.”
(Qur’an: A’raf: 7: 179)

“VERILY, Allah does not forgive (SHIRK) the ascribing of divinity to
aught beside Him, although He forgives any lesser sin (than SHIRK)
unto whomever He wills: for those who ascribe divinity to aught
beside Allah have indeed gone far astray.”
(Qur’an: An-Nisa’: 4: 116)

 As Believers, we uphold TAUHEED (Attestation to Oneness of
Allah) and reject all forms of SHIRK (ascribing partners to Him),
and although one dies with sins, yet we have been promised
forgiveness from Allah s.w.t.
 With TAUHEED, there is HOPE. Our Prophet Muhammad
s.a.a.w. will intercede for sinful people of TAUHEED , who may
end up in hell ,and with Allah’s Mercy, bring them out into
Paradise.
 And even after death, believers who dies without any sin of
SHIRK , can benefit from the Du’a from living believers seeking
forgiveness for us. So always repent and make ISTIGHFAR
which includes renewal of our TAUHEED.

“Those who sustain the Throne (of Allah) and those
around it sing Glory and Praise to their Lord; believe in
Him; and implore forgiveness for those who believe:
"Our Lord! Thy reach is over all things in Mercy, and
Knowledge. Forgive, then, those who turn in
repentance, and follow Thy Path: and preserve them
from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire!”
(Qur’an: Ghafir: 40: 7)

“And We did not send any messenger except to
be obeyed by permission of Allah. And if, when
they wronged themselves, they had come to
you, [O Muhammad], and asked forgiveness of
Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness
for them, they would have found Allah
Accepting of repentance and Merciful.”
(Qur’an: An-Nisa: 4: 64)

“So know, [O Muhammad], that there is no deity
except Allah and ask forgiveness for your sin and for
the believing men and believing women. And Allah
knows of your movement and your resting place.”

“Whoever ask for the forgiveness (from Allah) for the
Believing men and Believing women, Allah will write
for him a merit (HASSANAT) for each and every one
of the Believing men and Believing women (whom he
had sought forgiveness for).”

“The happiest person who receive my intercession
(in the Hereafter), will be he who says:
LAA-ILAA-HA-IL-LALLAH (There is no god except Allah),
sincerely in his heart (i.e. pure from any SHIRK)”

“Angels will intercede, the Prophets will intercede,
and the Believers will intercede (for other people)
until there remain nothing except the Mercy of
the One Who is Most Merciful (Allah), Who will
restrain the Fire of Hell and bring out from it, a
people who have never done any good deed,
(blackened) like a charred coal.”

“The dead (Muslim) in the grave is like one drowning and in need
of help. He is waiting for the prayer (Du’a) from his father, his
mother, his children and his trusted closed friends. When a prayer
(Du’a) reaches him, this is more beloved to him than the whole
world and what is in it. Verily Allah Most Esteemed and Glorious,
when granting the prayer (Du’a) from those living to the people of
the grave, it is as big as mountains. And know that amongst the
gifts from those alive given to those who have died are through
ISTIGHFAR (asking Allah’s forgiveness for them) and SADAQAH
(deeds of charity) made upon their names.”

He taught us , when visiting the grave, to recite :

‘Peace be upon you all, O inhabitants of the graves,
amongst the believers and the Muslims.
Verily we will, Allah willing, be united with you,
we ask Allah for well-being for us and you.’

LAA- ILAA-HA- IL-LALLAAHU - WAHDAHU –
LAA – SHAREE-KA LAH, LAHUL-MULKU –
WALAHUL-HAMD, WA-HUWA - ‘ALAA
KUL-LI- SHAY -INQ- QADEER,

“There is no god (none has the right to be worshipped) except
Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty
and praise, and He is All-Powerful over all things .”

ALLAA-HUM-MA - IN-NEE – A –’UU-DZU-BIKA - MIN
AN - USH-RI-KA – BI-KA – SHAY-AN – WA –ANA –
A’-LAMU, WA –AS-TAGH-FIRU-KA –
MI-NADZ—DZAM - BIL– LADZII - LAA – A’-LAM
“O Allah! I seek refuge with You from committing
SHIRK i.e. associating others with You, knowingly,
and I seek Your forgiveness from the committing of
the sins which I do not know.”

“SAY: “[Thus speaks Allah:] ‘O you servants of Mine who have
transgressed against your own selves! Despair not of Allah’s mercy:
behold, Allah forgives all sins - for, verily, He alone is much forgiving,
a dispenser of grace!’”

ALLAA-HUM-MA - RAH-MATAKA – AR-JUU-, FALAA-TA-KIL-NEE –
ILAA – NAF-SEE – TAR-FA-TA – ‘AY-NI, WA-AS-LIH-LEE –
SHA’-NEE - KUL-LAHU, LAA-ILAA-HA IL-LA ANTA
‘O Allah, it is Your mercy that I hope for, so do not leave me in
charge of my affairs even for a blink of an eye and rectify for me
all of my affairs. None has the right to be worshipped except
You.’

“And ordain Thou for us what is good in this world as well as in the life to
come: behold, unto Thee have we turned in repentance!" [Allah]
answered: "With My chastisement do I afflict whom I will - but My grace
overspreads everything: and so I shall confer it on those who are
conscious of Me and spend in charity, and who believe in Our messages-”
(Qur’an: A’raf: 7: 156)

“O my sons, go forth and try to obtain some tidings of Joseph and
his brother; and do not lose hope of Allah's life-giving mercy:
verily, none but people who deny the truth can ever lose hope of
Allah's life-giving mercy.”

fear of Allah on his last hour (near death), Allah will grant
him his hope, and security from that which he fears.”

"O our Sustainer! Thou hast not created [aught of] this
without meaning and purpose. Limitless art Thou in Thy
glory! Keep us safe, then, from suffering through fire!

"O our Sustainer! Whomsoever Thou shalt commit to the fire,
him, verily, wilt Thou have brought to disgrace [in this world];
and such evildoers will have none to succour (help) them.”

"O our Sustainer! Behold, we heard a voice call [us] unto faith,
`Believe in your Sustainer!' - and so we came to believe.
O our Sustainer! Forgive us, then, our sins, and efface our bad

IIMAN Belief Faith Conviction ‘AMAL [Islam] Submission Obedience Practice IHSAN Best or Righteous Conduct Faith without obedience is meaningless; and obedience without Faith is mere rituals and may even lead to hypocrisy. Together, Faith and Obedience must lead to Righteousness with IHSAN which essentially focus in our intention to sincerely serve Allah s.w.t. Be, then, conscious of Me seeing that for those who shun the powers of evil lest they [be tempted to] worship them, and turn unto Allah instead, there is the glad tiding [of happiness in the life to come].   • 41.  Among the natural instinct (FITRAH) in mankind is that of “Fear”.  This is especially important for self-preservation, or in matters which propel him avoid whatever is harmful or dangerous. Yet, often fear can make a person to cowardly submit to falsehood or imaginings and not to the truth or to Allah (the One Whom mankind ought to fear).  Thus TAUHEED with the knowledge of Who Allah is, Islam teaches Muslims to remove the misplaced fear of others, but channel them to Allah and heed the warnings He gave, so that man can seek His Mercy before it is too late.   • 42.  Because of Allah’s justice, man must be warned that their actions in this life can bring many adverse consequences or harm and severe punishments, albeit, delayed or even in another life.  The fear of Allah, is in fear of His Wrath – the outcome of His Justice. Yet, mankind generally is fearful of worldly things which are temporal and inconsequential whereas the Reality of the warning regarding that in the Hereafter is most severe and eternal.   • 44.  We are constantly reminded that it is Allah that ultimate decides our fate. Alas, many are deceived to be fearful of others even to the extent of being disobedient to Allah. Whereas Allah reminds us: Say: "Never can anything befall us save what Allah has decreed!   • 50.  The meaning of “KHASHIYA” means a sense of “awe” which is linked to the knowledge of the grandeur and majesty of Allah s.w.t. such that one becomes humbled and with reverence, shame and dread which cause us to “melt ” into being totally insignificant.  This attitude or inner feeling, is the outcome of profound knowledge and realization of how “awesome” , an amazement or wonder in our being after true meaning the signs (AAYAT ) we ‘read’ propel us to glimpse the Exaltedness and Almightiness of Allah, the Creator, Sustainer of the entire universe.   • 55.  Our tendency to be impressed, awestruck etc. from our knowledge and conviction of someone or something, is natural and inevitable. Just like “KHAUF” , it is meant to be directed towards realization of Allah, the One Who deserves our attention.  Yet, because many do not go beyond the signs and the physical or mundane to connect it with the Divine, it is possible for them to only be amazed only in these signs.   • 60.  As Believers, we uphold TAUHEED (Attestation to Oneness of Allah) and reject all forms of SHIRK (ascribing partners to Him), and although one dies with sins, yet we have been promised forgiveness from Allah s.w.t.  With TAUHEED, there is HOPE. Our Prophet Muhammad s.a.a.w. will intercede for sinful people of TAUHEED , who may end up in hell ,and with Allah’s Mercy, bring them out into Paradise.  And even after death, believers who dies without any sin of SHIRK , can benefit from the Du’a from living believers seeking forgiveness for us.   • 71. “The dead (Muslim) in the grave is like one drowning and in need of help. He is waiting for the prayer (Du’a) from his father, his mother, his children and his trusted closed friends. When a prayer (Du’a) reaches him, this is more beloved to him than the whole world and what is in it. Verily Allah Most Esteemed and Glorious, when granting the prayer (Du’a) from those living to the people of the grave, it is as big as mountains.
