The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, India is a historic luxury hotel that was the target of a terrorist attack over 60 hours in November 2008. Gunmen entered the hotel and began firing on guests, killing over 30 people inside the hotel. It took Indian security forces nearly 3 days to eliminate the last of the attackers who had barricaded themselves inside the hotel. The attack caused significant damage to parts of the historic hotel and it took several months for repairs to be completed before it reopened.
