Direct Relief is California’s largest international humanitarian
nonprofit organization, providing medical assistance to improve
the health and lives of those affected by poverty and disaster.
Founded in 1948, Direct Relief has helped people in both the
United States and throughout the world for nearly seven
decades. Beginning in 2000, the organization has responded to a
wide range of urgent and ongoing health emergencies by
providing over $3.4 billion in essential material resources, such
as medicine, supplies, and equipment.

5. THE ROTARY
FOUNDATION
The Rotary Foundation is a nonprofit that works to advance
world understanding, goodwill, and peace. Using grants, Rotary’s
34,000 clubs all around the world can develop and carry out
sustainable humanitarian projects and provide scholarships and
professional training opportunities.
One of the foundation’s biggest initiatives has been the
eradication of polio through its PolioPlus program. Through their
partnerships with our organizations, over 2.5 billion children
have been immunized, reducing the incidence of polio by 99%
and eradicating it from all by three countries.

FOR UNICEF

education.
