Summary of Responsibility
 Supervise the daily operations of the laundry
 Ensure that the guest laundries are delivered on time
 Recommend appropriate cleaning agents and techniques for soiled linens and laundries given
by the guests
 Guide laundry workers for handling the daily laundry requests and special requests
 Make sure that the soiled linens are washed, ironed, and stacked appropriately
 Responsible for ensuring that the working stock is always in hand
 Train new employees for operating various equipment used in the laundry
 Coordinate with the housekeeping manager for planning for special events
 Ensure that the maintenance cycle is followed as per the specifications
 Handle guest complaints during the shift
 Ensure that the laundry is functioning optimally with utmost efficiency
 Allocate duties and responsibilities to the employees on shift
 Coordinate with the HR manager for performance appraisal of the employees
 Assist in the preparation of training plans and modules for the new employees
 Ensure that the soiled linens are collected in the specified manner and washed as per the
standards
 Ensure that proper disinfection, hygiene, and sanitation procedures are followed
 Make sure that all floor pantries are stocked with sufficient stock of linens
 Attend to breakdowns and get them rectified at the earliest
 Monitor attendance of the employees on work during the shift
 Ensure that the instructions are followed as specified
 Attend to special guest requests

2.  Instruct the usage of chemicals and other washing reagents
 Explain washing instructions to the workers for proper care of linens and clothes
 Ensure that all clothes are washed and cleaned thoroughly
 Monitor the tagging of the laundries coming in for washing
 Ensure smooth running of the laundry operations during the shift
 Train employees to operate machines and use chemicals carefully
 Organize and control laundry department and maintain all relevant records
 Responsible for the proper handling of guest and house laundry and establish standards and
procedures to ascertain quality of work performed
 Regularly analyze procedures in order to elaborate on ways for improvement and institute
safety measures
 Follow up with engineering department on preventive maintenance and repair orders
 Organize production schedules to meet the requirements of various department and make
regular water analysis
 Check on production methods and procedures, issue necessary orders to correct
shortcomings and take inventory and control supplies
 Provide training to laundry employees and give regularly feedback about their performance
 Ensure that laundry employees are knowledgeable about hotel’s services and facilities
 Prepare duty roster and fill in monthly attendance record
 Investigate complaints and take corrective measures
