2. Heart Transplant Heart Transplant: A heart transplant is surgery to remove a person's diseased heart and replace it with a healthy heart from a deceased donor. Ninety percent of heart transplants are done on patients who have end-stage heart failure.
3. Liver Transplant Liver transplantation is usually performed only if a patient has end stage liver disease. Medical treatment is always the first choice of therapy but when this medical treatment has been unsuccessful and the patient’s liver can no longer support life, then liver transplantation is considered. Liver transplantation can occur for a large number of different liver disorders but there are several conditions which are more commonly treated by liver transplantation. These conditions in general cause chronic or continuing liver inflammation and cirrhosis.
4. Blood Transfusion A blood transfusion is a safe, common procedure in which blood is given to you through an intravenous (IV) line in one of your blood vessels. Blood transfusions are done to replace blood lost during surgery or due to a serious injury. A transfusion also may be done if your body can't make blood properly because of an illness.
