On December 24th, I decided to go into the gym for a workout before heading out of
town for Christmas.
Unfortunately, I decided to do a maximum strength squat workout. So on my 4th set and
on the third 3 reps under 315 lbs, my body buckled and I fell to the floor in a freakishly
awkward fashion.
It was like an out-of-body experience and I couldn’t believe that it actually happened. But
it did.
I laid on the floor for about 10 minutes to make sure all my parts were in working order.
Amazingly, no one really came to see if I was ok, including the 2 personal trainers who
working out right beside me. Hey but that’s Goodlife Fitness!
Anyway, I slowly made my way back to my feet and left the gym. I called my buddy Dr.
Henry Candelaria, an awesome chiropractor, and he advised me as to what I should do to
accelerate my recovery.
Thank you Henry because as of today, just 5 days later, I feel 90% better. All I did was
quickly apply ice, heat, the Dr. Ho massage pads, and kept mobile. No drugs thank you
very much!
But I’m not feeling 100% and I’ll probably take another week any weights. I’ll slowly get
back into it using bodyweight exercises and focusing on strengthening my core.
I’ll keep you posted.
