3. Step 2: Develop a protagonist and antagonist
Ex: Adam: Slave
Ex: Mr. Daniels: Plantation owner running for town mayor

4. Step 3: Create a location and setting of the story
Ex: Late 1700’s in Connecticut

5. Step 4: Character Development
Ex. From uncaring to determined, from nobody to nightmare

6. Step 5: Develop Supporting Characters:
How do they fit into the story
Ex: Christina is Mr.Daniels daughter who will someday inherit his
plantation, The Sheriff is the town officer who was appointed the position by
the town mayor Rowah: Unwitting Instigator of Doom

7. Step 6: Theme of the Story
Ex: Acceptance: We all make bad decisions but what defines us is our
ability to accept them and move on. Loneliness: Adam is the only immortal
so no one understands him Morality: The concept of immortality means that
there’s literally no cosmic justice and death is no longer a factor so why
should he be good?

8. Step 7: Determine the rating of the story
Ex: TV MA

9. Step 8: 3 act structure: Beginning, Middle,
End
Ex: Future Seasons
Season 2: 1880’s western
Season 3: 1990’s
