4. NOTE
The methods described in this
guide are adapted from the
Internet. No guarantees that they
will fix anything. Do it at your own
risk.
5. 1) Rubbing Alcohol
• Not a recommended method.
• Alcohol may damage your lens permanently.
• You can get rubbing alcohol from any
pharmacy.
• Damp (not wet) a piece of microfiber cloth
with rubbing alcohol and try to wipe the
scratch off.
6. 2) Toothpaste
• Toothpaste is slightly abrasive.
• Known good method to remove scratches
on glasses and smartphones.
• If it works on Gorilla Glass, it should work on
lenses.
• But toothpaste will also probably remove
some of the lens coating.
7. 3) Vaseline
• Use Vaseline or any petroleum based
lotions.
• Old school method used by techies to
remove scratches on monitors.
• Seems to be very effective on plastic
surfaces.
• Not sure about glass.
8. 4) Auto Glass Polish
• There are a lot of good products for cars.
• The windscreen glass polish is a good one
that might help repair lenses.
• Get a polish with nano glass coating
protection.
• It should restore old lenses and give it a new
layer of protection.
9. 5) Pencil Eraser
• Another good old school method.
• Just use a pencil eraser to gently rub on the
scratch.
• Works for minor scratches only.
• Not so sure how well it will work on lenses.
10. 6) Banana and Baking Soda
• A strange fix…
• Add baking soda to a piece of banana.
• Use the banana to wipe and remove
scratches.
• Not sure if this is a legit method or a myth.
