- Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Today It’s my honor here to be on behalf of Qingdao Tourism Administration to present you our lovely city-Qingdao.
- So, have you heard of Qingdao? I would like to know how many people here heard of Qingdao. Could you please raise your hand if you know Qingdao. OK, not too many. (OH, so many people know about Qingdao. I feel excited.)
- I think almost all the Europeans know about Qingdao from Tsingtao beer. Yes Tsingtao beer is a world wide famous beer brand. Since 1903 the city of Qingdao was named TSINGTAO based on Wade-Gils Romanization. But after 1978 the city name had been changed from TSINGTAO to QINGDAO. Now TSINGTAO is known as a world famous beer brand, which is made in QINGDAO city.
- Where is QINGDAO?
- Qingdao lies in the east of China on the coast of the Yellow Sea with a total area of 11,282 square kilometers and a total population of 8.7 million.
- Based on the beautiful bay and excellent ecological environment, Qingdao is named as The World’s Most Charming Bay, One of China’s top10 tourist destinations, One of the most livable cities and One of the best leisure cities in China.
- Maybe you are curious why we say “ Love Travel Love Qingdao”. Because we’re so confident that everyone who visits Qingdao will be fall in love with this city. Believe it or not, Qingdao is a gift of God to all residents and visitors. Now I will show you the reasons of loving QINGDAO.
- Before are 6 reasons of loving Qingdao in my mind. Sure there are more and more other reasons depending on different people. It needs to come here to experience and discover by yourself.
- Now I would like to share Top10 destinationas in QINGDAO with you.
- Top 1 is the Seashore Sidewalk. It’s a 40km boardwalk along Qingdao’s coast. It’s a fantastic thing and the best way to enjoy the beautiful bay and seaside scenery of Qingdao.
- Top2: Laoshan Mountain. Laoshan is one of the most famous Taoist mountain in China and is the highest peak along China’s coastline. The best view is on the Jufeng, which is highest point of the mountain.
- Top3: Tsingtao Brewery. The Tsingtao Brewery was established in the 1890’s. It’s one of the oldest brewery in China. Now the original brewery building is used as a beer museum. Visitors can learn the history of Tsingtao beer and watch the factory line in the museum.
- Top4: Guest House. One hundred years ago this building was built as the former German governor’s residence. Now it is used as a museum and is one of the finest European-style villas in China.
- Top5: Xiaoyushan Park. Here is the best site to get a bird’s view of Qingdao. A traditional Chinese 3-storey pavilion lies on the mountain. The buildings are very well preserved.
- Top6: Olympic Sailing Center. Here is the former competing venue of 29th Olympic Sailing Games. More than 400 athletes from 40 countries were competing in this venue for 11 gold medals. A umber of world’s top level sailing events are held here annually.
- Top7: Unterwater World and Polar Ocean World. These two destinations are attacting more than 1 million visitors annually with marine life show and marine animal performance.
- Haiquanwan Ocean Spring Reort is located in the spring town of Jimo, a district of Qingdao. It provides 600 5-star hotel rooms and hot spring facilities. Besides people can enjoy Outlets, Live Show, Seafood Restaurant in the super large resort.
- Top9: Fangte Wild Dreamland. This fascinating destination is focus on young people and children. It give the visitors a high-tech fantasy experience and a variety of recreational projects.
- Top10: Under Ocean Tunnel and Cross Sea Bridge. These two projects were completed in June 2011. They link the east and west city part of Qingdao. The total length of the bridge is 41.58km and is the world’s longest bridge across the sea.
- Besides the TOP10 destinations, I’d like to recommend you a future destination: the 2014 Qingdao World Horticulture Expo in Baiguoshan Forest Park of Qingdao. The Expo will be open from Apr. to Oct. 2014. More than 20 countries will participate. Wish you have the chance to be in Qingdao then.
