I have mentioned several ways to transfer MOBI eBooks to Kindle the other day. And they are the main
ways to send files to Kindle. However, in that article, I neglected the Cloud-based way, say how to use
Google Docs, MobileMe, Huddle, Box and so on to transfer files to Kindle. Here I’d like to make it up by
introducing how to use Dropbox to transfer files to Kindle Fire.
To transfer files to Kindle Fire with Dropbox, you need to download the Dropbox for computer and register
an account beforehand. Here are the steps for how to get the Dropbox prepared.
1. Download and intall Dropbox. When you begin to install the app, it will ask you to create an account.
When the registration pop-up appears during the installation, fill in with user name, email and
passwords.
2. Drag and drop the files, videos, songs and eBooks to the folder named “Public” in Dropbox.
Note: Make sure these target files are compatible with Kindle Fire. Videos should be in MP4 format.
Songs need to be in MP3 format. And eBooks should be in AZW, MOBI and TXT format. If not, change the
video format, say convert EPUB to Kindle format.
Next, use QuickOffice for Kindle Fire to access to Dropbox. Launch the QuickOffice app, tap on the
‘Browse’ icon to enter the File Manager. At the bottom, tap the little square with a “+” sign to access to
Dropbox. Of course, you need to sign in the Dropbox with the account you’ve created for the desktop
Dropbox. Click to read and manage files you’ve transferred to Kindle with Dropbox.
2. See, just in two steps you’ve successfully transferred files to Kindle via Dropbox. Many people said they
are now playing around with Dropbox. It is so convenient. In this way, you do not need to connect your
Kindle with your computer or email the files to Kindle. And the files you read on Kindle are always the
newest ones because you can control the files remotely and update the files whenever you like.
