This document provides guidance for an interdisciplinary studies assignment on topics related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students are instructed to select a relevant topic, provide at least three scholarly sources to help understand the problem or issue from different perspectives, and assess the topic from an interdisciplinary approach to gain new insights into solving the problem. An interdisciplinary perspective using concepts from multiple fields could provide a more well-rounded understanding of the issue than a single discipline.

1. Select a topic relevant to the COVID pandemic (access to health care, economic inequality,
the global context of the pandemic, racial and ethnic disparities in contraction rate or access
to the vaccine, political decision-making and leadership, etc). 2. Provide at least three
scholarly or otherwise trustworthy sources on your topic, and justify your use. How do they
help you understand the problem or issue? Why are they good sources?

approach might help provide new insights or perspectives in solving or helping the problem
