2. EDISON BACKGROUND
• He is born on Feb
11, 1847 in Milan,
Ohio.

3. EDUCATION
• He only went to school for a
few months because they
didn’t have enough money to
go to school. He taught
himself by reading lots of
books independently.

4. Starting Working
He started to work
at an early age,
as most boys
started working at
that time.

5. His first job was working
as a news boy. Selling
newspaper in the train.

6. • He read lots of scientific and technical
books and that is how he learn to
operate the telegrapher.

7. Beginning his career
He started
working as a
telegrapher at the
age of 16.

8. He worked even more
on is inventions after
moving to Boston.

9. • He was not famous until
the invention of the
phonograph.

10. • He burned himself with candles so many times that he
wanted a way to see without a candle.

Light bulb lightens the
darkness. Phonograph is a record player

12. MARRIAGE
• He married Mary Stillwell and had children together, but
his wife died 13 years later because of an unknown
disease.
