We start most Drupal projects by looking at content: What content needs to be displayed on the website? How does it need to be organized? What's the content strategy? In this session, we'll look at how to get your content into Drupal using the powerful migrate module. We'll look at an easy example using the GUI for importing content from another Drupal website. Our Drupal 8 websites are true applications, often very complex ones. More and more workload is being delegated to external systems, usually microservices, that are used for many different tasks. Software architectures are becoming more distributed and fragmented. To track down problems and optimize for performance, it will become mandatory to trace the lifecycle of a single request as it originates from a client, passes through all Drupal subsystems, reaches external (micro)services and comes back. This is often time consuming and without the right tools may become very difficult. A simple, unstructured log stream isn't enough anymore; we need to find a way to observe the details of what is going on. Observability is what it’s all about. This is based on structured logs, metrics and traces. In this talk you will see how to implement these techniques in Drupal, which tools and which modules to use to trace and log all requests that reach our website and how to expose and display useful metrics. We will integrate Drupal with OpenTracing, Prometheus, Monolog, Grafana and many more.

Drupal 8 has made significant improvements towards the ability to stage configuration. But what about content staging? Has it gotten easier in Drupal 8? This session is targeted towards site builders where we will continue to explore the content staging solution that is being built for Drupal 8 and that was initially presented in Austin. It's a solution that brings vast improvements to sites owners that need to stage or replicate content across sites. Further, site builders will learn how this solution also applies to broader and sometimes more exciting use cases - content sharing and filtered replication across networks of sites and applications. Created by Mozilla Research in 2012 and now part of Linux Foundation Europe, the Servo project is an experimental rendering engine written in Rust. It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine. In this presentation, Rakhi Sharma reviews the status of the project, our recent developments in 2023, our collaboration with Tauri to make Servo an easy-to-use embeddable rendering engine, and our plans for the future to make Servo an alternative web rendering engine for the embedded devices industry. In the thrilling conclusion to 2023, ransomware groups had a banner year, really outdoing themselves in the "make everyone's life miserable" department. LockBit 3.0 took gold in the hacking olympics, followed by the plucky upstarts Clop and ALPHV/BlackCat. Apparently, 48% of organizations were feeling left out and decided to get in on the cyber attack action. Business services won the "most likely to get digitally mugged" award, with education and retail nipping at their heels. Hackers expanded their repertoire beyond boring old encryption to the much more exciting world of extortion. The US, UK and Canada took top honors in the "countries most likely to pay up" category. Bitcoins were the currency of choice for discerning hackers, because who doesn't love untraceable money?
