This document is an overview of a workshop on software estimation that is divided into three parts. Part I covers critical estimation concepts like what an estimate is, sources of estimation error, and the value of accurate estimates. Part II details fundamental estimation techniques such as expert judgment, decomposition, analogy, and tool-based estimates. Part III discusses specific challenges in estimating size, effort, schedule, and presenting estimates. The workshop aims to demystify the process of software estimation.
