1. Q4: How did you use new media
technologies in the construction
and research, planning and
evaluation stages?
2. PowerPoint and Word
I used slide share to upload planning and
research pieces of work that was produced
on PowerPoint and word. To do this you
would have to save the document and enter
the slide share website, then upload this
attached document. After this document
has been uploaded to the slide share
website you have the availability to copy the
URL to share it onto other websites such as
YouTube and blogger. Without this website I
may have struggled to have been able to
upload PowerPoint documents directly onto
my blog therefore slide share has been a
useful way to transfer it onto the blog.
3. Prezi
Another piece of digital technology I used was
Prezi, this software/app allowed me to create a
slideshow presentation with effects that would
allow the research to look more creative. To use
this website you would simply sign up or log in,
then you have the choice to use different slides
which can have different effects on them all
suited to your choice. Then you would have a
small section on each topic that you wanted to
write about, for example one of my Prezi slides
was based on the indie music genre digipack
research, this meant that for each section I
would talk about a different digipack, so on one
slide would talk about the Jake Bugg self-titled
digipack, then the arctic monkeys suck it and
see album and so on. This software allowed to
me group topics and then split it up into the
different things I wanted to talk about.
4. Survey Monkey
I used a website called survey monkey, this website allows you to make up
surveys and distribute them to a wide audience. You have the option of
making the answers to each question either a yes or no, a blank space for the
audience to fill in their own answer, or even a drop down box for answers.
This website allowed me to have audience research for my digipack and
video. I used the website to ask the audience what name I should use for my
artist and also I did a questionnaire on what people would expect to see in
my video; clothing, storyline and even what sort of music video I should
produce, such as a stop motion animation video which I initially looked at
producing at the start of the course. This website allowed me to reach a
broader amount of people via email rather than going and finding people
individually, this also saves time.
5. Camera
Another piece of technology I used was a camera, this is a simple piece
of technology that I used to record my music video. In some scenes I
used two cameras at once so that I could get various angles of the
same scene. This would allow me to use little cut scenes throughout
the video to add a better effect. Also when I used the camera I
recorded a scene using the camera handheld rather than on a tripod.
This allowed me to record the artist throughout a scene while moving,
this created an affect that the was the audience in the scene. The
camera allowed me to record in camera various ways such as it being
in HD or not in focus.
6. Email To plan my event I could email or message my artist
through social media to arrange certain times when to
meet my artist, what they should wear and bring to the
recording area, this allowed the recording of my video to
be more organised and things to run smoothly.
7. The piece of technology I used the most was blogger,
this was where I uploaded every single piece of work I
did. It is used to put all of your work together into one
page, along with this you can group each bit of work
into pins, this allows you to have sub headings so that
you can find your individual pieces of work much easier.Blogger
