1. • We decided to have the girls and Hannah dressed
in army styled clothing and colours. We thought
this would give off the impression that the girls are
unified which sticks to the album title ‘unity’.
• Also we used Hannah in a short top with her midriff
out as this is a typical convention of a R&B video.
This idea also fits to the Laura Mulvey theory.
• During verse 1 we also used a close up of Hannah
this again is typical of an R&B video as the artist is
typically the main feature of their videos.
• Also in the video there is a shot of all the girls
together, this adds to the idea of them being a unit
and powerful women which sticks to the lyrics of
the song.

2. • We also decided to dress Ross in all black, this stuck to the theme of
power we wanted the video to suggest that Ross is the dominant,
powerful male. However, throughout the video the audience discover
that he is inferior to the girls and isn’t powerful.
• We also included shots from Ross’ perspective we thought this would
make the audience feel like they are in the video in Ross’ shoes. This is
effective as the audience begin to feel intimidated by Hannah.
