S
o long 2016! It’s another
year down, but before we
move ahead, let’s take a
look at our grand prize
winners from the 2016 Summer
Reading Program (Please note that
these are individuals who contributed
detailed reviews of materials they
read, listened or watched over the
summer). In third place we have
Juanita Foltz of Friendship Village of
Columbus. Our runner up this year is
Toni Shaffer of Columbus Colony.
And, (cue drum roll) our grand prize
winner for the “On Your Mark, Get
Set, Read” program is May Harrell of
Columbus Colony! All of our weekly
prize winners this year will take home
nifty gift bags containing products
from our amazing local sponsors
Raisin Rack, Friends of the
Westerville Library, Roush Hardware,
and Hoover Gardens. Congrats to all
of our winners and thank you to all
who participated.

The Train to Chrystal City by Jan Jarboe Russell
Glad, for someone put this book in my bag.
Could not put this book down, for I was curious-
US Government already apologized to Japanese
people who were deported to Chrystal City– even
paid $20,000 to these people but the US Govern-
ment never apologized to German people? I don’t
think it is fair! When our Armed Forces were
captured as POW, they always told their captors
that they should be treated fair according to the
Geneva Convention. But, the US Government did
not practice this nor concerned about the Japa-
nese/German people who were forced to go to
Crystal City.
Boyee! This kind of politics/practice
should be practiced as it is supposed
to! Thanks again for giving me the
opportunity to read it. Love it to
death!
