The Epotential was developed to address the need for teachers and schools to have a benchmark of their ICT capabilities and corresponding resources for their ongoing professional Learning in ICT.
The bar graph is mapped against each key are. You also get a table which shows which phase you are in for each key area.
There are 7 Key Areas, banks of questions. each one relating to the EPotential continuum and is made up of either 1 or 2 banks of questions. Learning & Teaching: The extent to which ICT is integrated into the curriculum. Most elements derived from VELS Interdisciplinary Domain: ICT ( ICT for visualising thinking , ICT for creating, ICT for communicating) Assessment & Reporting: Refers to the extent to which ICT is used in Assessment & Reporting eg online digital portfolios, ICT based Rubrics, handheld devices etc. Classroom Organisation: The extent to which ICT has changed the organisation of the Classroom. Anywhere anytime access, independent learning, classroom groupings etc. ICT Ethics : Concerns the areas of Digital Copyright. Accessibility, cyber bullying, online social responsibility etc. Resources: Asks a number of questions around the existence of ICT Resources within the School( which does not contribute highly to an individual teachers score), however there are additional questions that do contribute around supporting and promoting use where possible. ICT Professional Learning: The extent to which ICT is a priority in Professional Learning Planning. ICT Leadership: The extent to which Leadership is provided for the ongoing integration of ICT.
