1. Meet with the teacher to discuss their mistake rather than involving the entire staff. 2. Gather data on student progress, benchmarks, grades and assessments to monitor the effectiveness of the basic skills program and determine any revisions needed. 3. Work with the new Assistant Principal to determine their responsibilities and characteristics needed for their mentor. The mentor's role should be supportive rather than evaluative. 4. Have the new Assistant Principal introduce themselves to all stakeholders through a faculty meeting.
