19. WHY STORY? WHY NOW? According to Andreas Weigend, former Chief Scientist at Amazon, in 2009, more data will be generated by individuals than in the entire history of mankind through 2008. Information overload is more serious than ever. Story is an ancient form of transmitting cultural wisdom. Story is how we make sense of the world and remember things. We need story to help us filter through and make sense of the growing mass of content we are exposed to every day. We need story to help us connect with one another across time and space.
