20. Technology... RIA SERVICES Simplifies the traditional n-tier application pattern by bringing together the ASP.NET and Silverlight platforms Part 2: System Design
Hello everyone. We are Dominator team from FPT University and today I’m proud to present to you all our software system: World state visualization
First of all, please let me introduce our team. Here is mister Nguyen Hoang Long, our team leader. Me, Ngo Quang Khanh and here is mister Vo Dang Phat. In the process of developing this system, we have received great help and advices from mister Phan Truong Lam, our instructor and mister Nguyen Vu Hung, CTO of Vinicorp.
Our presentation today will include the following topics: first will be an introduction on the idea and meaning of this project, next will be the system’s design, after that we will show a video showing our final system. Finally we will have a question and answers section.
First let me introduce about World Bank because this is where we get our ideas and data. World Bank is an international financial institution that provide loan and investment in various countries around the world, especially developing countries. These loan are mostly for health improvement
4000 Indicators 240 Countries 51 years from 1960 to 2010
4000 Indicators 240 Countries 51 years from 1960 to 2010
4000 Indicators 240 Countries 51 years from 1960 to 2010
4000 Indicators 240 Countries 51 years from 1960 to 2010
The idea is to use World Bank’s vast database on many aspect of over 200 countries’ to create a tool for government’s planners, journalist, teachers… easily understand the status of any countries through visualization of the numeric data. World bank has many data -> big data -> show number of data -> no tool, raw data User -> Purpose
This is the physical view of our system. The system consist of an application server that get data from our local database, which in turn get data from World Bank API and UN Comtrade through a intelligence crawler agent. This agent will transform the raw data to fit with our local DB. The application server also call services from 3 rd party such as Map service from Bing, Authentication service from Window Live or our own services.
We use the last Silverlight 4 as the development platform
We also use the RIA services which was introduced in Silverlight 4
As we mentioned before, we use Bing map for our map service.
