Location research

  1. 1. Location research: Monton Walks. Why I picked this location: I picked this location because of how deserted it usually is. There is a long pathway and on either side the surroundings are just trees and gravel. I feel if I was to use this location, I could make my project a story of somebody who has This also fits my theme perfectly. Seeing as its empty the majority of the time, my model could be stood in the middle of the pathway looking round with a distressed look on her face. As my theme revolves around schizophrenia and mental illness, while doing location research I wanted to try incorporating the theme in my research as a way of experimenting and getting an idea of what sort of shots and angles to use, and effects if any. This is probably my favourite picture from the location research as I used slow shutter speed to see if I could use this in my final shoot. I like how it’s turned out and I feel that it would go with the theme well. My idea is for the model to just be stood staring straight at the camera. The picture and everything in it looks disorientated and rather than me representing the theme through the model, I tried to do it through the background instead. I want to show muddled feelings and a sense of disorientation. I want it to be as though it’s showing the feelings and emotions in the person’s mind, confused, unable to get their thoughts together. Which are some of the side effects of schizophrenia and depression.
