This is a reminder of the brutality that was displayed by white american southern men and women who resided in the southern states during the Civil Rights Movement.
This is one of the most famous cases of racism and brutality in history. The boy they slaughtered was 14 years old.
This Presentation was developed and researched by one of my students as part of their US History's Course Semester Grade.

9. In 1943 Emmett's father was drafted to the u.s army(world war 2). While serving in Italy he was convicted of raping two women and killing a third. He was executed by the army. Hanging near Pisa in July 1945. The army sent Mamie Louis's ring with his initial’s carved in it.
10. Many challenges in the area of Civil Rights have taken place throughout the United States; as well as, the world since Emmett Till’s brutal murder in 1955. It is important that as civilians living within the US we never forget those individuals like Emmett Till who died in vain as a representative for his race, culture, and country. Chelsea May - 2009
