• Clap switch is a switch
which can switch on/off any
electrical circuit by the
sound of clap (any type of
sound)

• The basic idea on clap switch is that the electric microphone
pickup the sound of your claps , coughs & any type of
sound to switch on/off the circuit

12. WORKING
• The sound of clap is received by a small microphone that
converts the sound signal into electrical signal but output is
very low
• Which is further amplified by the amplifier to amplifies weak
signals received by the microphone the amplifier output
connect to the bistable multi vibrator .
• The bistable multi vibrator also known as flip-flop circuit.
• Flip-flop circuit consist of two transistors at a time only one
transistor conduct and another cutoff .
• Thus the output of transistor either logic 0 or logic 1.
• The pulse of clap which is trigger for flip-flop make changes to
the out put stages
• The output of multi vibrator given to the relay. The output is
logic 1
the relay is normally acts as a switch . So load is activated.

13. MERITS
• Simple circuit
• Energy efficient
• We can turn ON/OFF by sound
• Automatic turn OFF

14. DEMERITS
• Transformer is used in this circuit.
• So cost is high

15. FUTURE SCOPE
• To increase the range of this equipment by using
better mic (microphone)
• You can use this as a Remote controller
