7. By ALICE MASSIMI Published: January 22, 2009 The City of Garden City is moving…at least the downtown is. Currently the city is on Highway 25 in the midst of the Georgia Ports Authority. But come this summer, garden city will open a new city hall on Dean Forest Road. The plan is to make this the new downtown, building shops, and hopefully a post office and library. Already Georgia Public Safety has agreed to build a regional training center in the area. “Instead of crying over our situation, oh the port is growing so fast we decided to take matters into our own hands and the result is where we are standing right now,” explains Brian Johnson.
