Practices
When using material in the classroom, only use
what is needed to achieve the goal or objective
When designing educational curriculum, you may
use material, but only if proper credit is given to
copyright holder.
Upon sharing curriculum, be careful to only use
the material that is strictly applicable to meeting
the objective of the lesson. Do not use the material
to advertise the curriculum.

Practices
Although students may use copyrighted material,
they should be creating something to augment the
original work.
When sharing student work, think how the use of
the material may economically impact the
copyrighted material.

6. Creative
Commons
Creative Commons is a certain type of
license that creators can get for their
work that gives others more freedoms
in using their work. The creator is
allowing other people to use their
work to be inspired and create
something new using it. In getting
this license, creators are saying to the
public that they want to share their
work with the world.

Commons license
allows the creator
to choose:
• If others must give the
creator credit
• That if their work is used,
the user must share their
new creative too
• If it can be used for
commercial use
• If people may copy, but
not change the original
work
