Jon“We don’t have a complete number for Keystones”
RoseBefore our project, the only catalog that wasn’t digital was the decorative keystone catalog. It was our goal to establish a systematic way to catalogue the decorative keystones in one district of Venice. A decorative keystone
RoseGenerated a field form based on what was used in 1995 that included a condition assessment.

NickArzana is an organization based in Venice that is dedicated to preserving and restoring the antique boats of Venice and artifacts relating to themThere are 55 individual boats in the Arzanà collectionThe restoration of antique boats is expensive and time-consuming, and Arzanà recieves little funding from the city, so restoring boats is a very slow process
NickSlide in at same timeThis is a map of the locations of boats in the Arzana collectionWe visited the collection of Arzanà boats at Forte Marghera, and old military fort located just outside of VeniceForte Maghera, pictures, history from Giovanni and Arzana6 of arzana’s boats
NickThese are the boats we cataloged at Forte Marghera, there are seven in total.

Why are we building it???
-The Layar system works by identifying points of interest near the user’s GPS location and displaying these points of interest as icons on the user’s camera. --In this case, the icons represent inscriptions. Each icon represents a different inscription near the user. The bigger the icon, the closer the piece, and the smaller the icon, the further away the piece is. -This middle section of the application provides more detailed information about the piece. -The application also links to the associated Venipedia page, -as well as to the Donate page on PreserVenice. -Users can also email the PreserVenice team with any questions or concerns, -and users can get turn-by-turn directions that will lead them to the selected piece of art.
In conclusion, this project represents the culmination of over 20 years of project work by raising awareness through the mobile application, providing easy access to the catalog through Venipedia, and allowing for the collection of donations through PreserVenice, all of which help to move toward the end goal of restoration.
