Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) refers to eye fatigue and pain caused by extensive computer, phone, or tablet use. Common symptoms include blurred vision, dry eyes, eye strain, headaches, and neck/shoulder pain. CVS is caused by incorrect posture, poor lighting, screen brightness issues, preexisting vision problems, and screen glare. While symptoms vary, CVS can last for a long or short period of time. To treat CVS, one should wear blue light glasses, use eye drops, adjust screens, take breaks with the 20-20-20 rule, and maintain proper seated posture. CVS is diagnosed by checking vision, refraction, patient history, and eye movement and focusing abilities.
