4. DNA replication consists to form two daughter
strands from a DNA molecule with two
complementary strands which are separated by
several enzymes (topoisomerase and helicases). It
is a semiconservative process and one of the most
important enzymes involved is DNA polymerase.
Objective: after cell division are two daughter
cells with the same genetic material of stem cells
In the DNA replication process it is highly sensitive to
mutations that may involve environmental or
hereditary factors, triggering diseases like cancer.
Many researchers have focused their study possible
factors (enzymes, receptors, brokers) in the process
of replication and other subsequent cellular
processes.
5. CANCER- CAUSING ENZYME ACTS
DURING DNA REPLICATION
(2 February 2016)
APOBEC family of enzymes plays an important
role in the immune system because it is involved
in protecting cells against virus, possibly
including HIV / AIDS, though the investigation
have indicated that certain enzymes of this
family deaminated cytosines on single stranded
DNA especially on the lagging- strand template
12. Researchers say that ALT is
present in aggressive
cancers and that are immune
to many therapeutic
techniques like
osteosarcomas,
glioblastomas and others.

13. The Researchers concluded that
this study allows the
identification and production of
new therapies in cancers that
have no therapeutic alternative
today.

16. MEDICAL UTILY
Both investigations allow
advances in gene
therapy applied to
diseases such as cancer,
determining different
therapeutic targets.
17. MEDICAL UTILY
DNA replication is a important
target for many disease factors,
therefore the study of this process
in depth is important because it
shows the different diagnostic
approaches and specific regions
susceptible to damage.
18. MEDICAL UTILY
In the first investigation it was
identified an enzyme with a
mutation effect, and in the second
was identified a protein that had a
protective effect; both approaches
are important in establishing a
diagnosis. Obtaining new
knowledge of these harmful agents
or protectors can add data to the
causes of various diseases and it
can be used for further studies
