1. Dark Universe
The Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium features entertaining and informative shows for adults and
children. All general audience and children's shows include two parts, the main feature and a tour of
Brisbane's night sky which is recreated in the Cosmic Skydome and presented by the Planetarium's
astronomers. The Planetarium is closed on Mondays and public holidays (including Anzac Day) and
Easter Sunday (5 April 2015). Find out Planetarium opening hours.
Bookings are highly recommended, especially during Queensland school holidays. Shows are subject
to change. Find out about how to make a booking and show prices.
General audience shows
For the enjoyment of audiences, these programs are not recommended for children under six.
Everyone attending a general audience show must be able to remain quietly seated for 40-50
minutes. The Planetarium has a 'no refund' policy. If you think your children would be unable to sit
quietly for that long, we recommend attending a Children's Show - Perfect Little Planet, Secret of
the Cardboard Rocket, Secret of the Dragon and/or Tycho to the Moon. On Saturday night, doors
close at 7.30pm.
Children's shows
For safety reasons, there is no admittance or re-
admittance after shows start. It is recommended
that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to a
session to purchase show tickets.
School/educational shows are available Tuesday
to Friday at 10.30am, 12pm and 1.30pm. Phone
the Planetarium for availability and conditions.
