2. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson
(Lewis Carroll) was born in
1832 in Cheshire, England.

3. He began to study at home and
proved to be a smart and quickwitted boy.
In 1846 he enrolled at the
School of Rugby.
In 1851 he became a student of
a college in Oxford.

4. In college, Lewis wrote poems and short
stories.
In 1864 he wrote his famous book “Alice in
Wonderland”.

5. It tells the story of a girl named Alice
who falls through the rabbit hole.
She gets into an imaginary world
inhabited by strange creatures.

9. Alice is about seven years old.
It is believed that Alice Pleasance Liddell,
a friend of the author, was the prototype
of Alice in Lewis Carroll’s book.
