3. Military Services
Military Services (Veterans Affairs Office) is part of the
Registration and Records Office and provides services
to veterans and their dependents who are eligible for
VA educational benefits. They are also responsible for
creating and maintaining records used to certify a
student’s status for the VA.

4. Important Steps
The following reminders are provided for both new
and returning students who intend to receive VA
educational benefits while enrolled at UTEP.
1. Registration for UTEP classes does not
automatically certify you for VA benefits. To be
certified, you will need to go to the VA Office and
complete the required forms.
2. An Undergraduate Course Credit Verification form
must be submitted to the VA Office if you have
completed fewer than 60 semester hours.
5. Important Steps
3. If you have complete 60 hours, you are required
to submit to the VA Office an official degree plan
that has been signed by your BMS advisor.
4. If any changes are made to your schedule, please
make sure to notify the VA Office and your BMS
advisor.
