4. Bluetooth technology:
Bluetooth is a wireless technology
used for exchanging data over short
distances using radio waves.
Bluetooth technology eliminates the
need for numerous cable
attachments.
Bluetooth communicates between
devices within a range of 10 meters.
5. Bluetooth(cont)
Bluetooth operates in the range of
2400–2483.5 MHz.
this technology enables users to
easily connect a wide range of
computing & telecommunication
devices.
6. History:-
This tecnology was officially introduced in
1998 and its basic purpose was to be a wire
replacement technology in order to rapidly
transfer voice and data.
Bluetooth is managed by the Bluetooth
Special Interest Group which has more than
20,000 member companies in the areas of
telecommunication, computing, networking,
and electronics.
7. How it works:
Bluetooth is a high speed, low power
microwave wireless link technology
designed to connect communicating
devices,connections can be point to
point or multipoint.
Unlike infra-red, bluetooth technology
does not require any line of sight
positioning of connected devices like
infra-red.
8. How works(cont)
Two bluetooth products can exchange
their addresses and capabilities just
after coming within the range of 10
metres.
can be extended 100 metres by
increasing power,it supports data
speed of up to 721 kbps.
9. How works(cont)
The bluettoth modules can be either bulit into
electronics devices or used as an adaptor
10. How works(cont)
Bluetooth devices are protected from
radio interference by changing their
frequencies up to a maximum of 1600
times a second
a technique used known as frequency
hopping.
11. Piconet:
Piconet is the most important
factor in bluetooth connectivity. It is
simply a collection of devices
connected through bluetooth
technology.
12. Piconet(cont)
While establishing a piconet one unit is act
as master and other as slaves for the
duration of piconet connection.
The wireless data exchange
standard Bluetooth uses a variety
of protocols. Core protocols are defined by
the trade organization Bluetooth SIG.
Additional protocols have been adopted
from other standards bodies.
13. Advantges of bluetooth:-
By installing bluetooth in your office
you can do complex tasks of
networking b/w the computing
devices.Each bluetooth device can
connect to 200 other devices.
It connect all your peripherals
wirelessly.
14. Advantages(cont)
With bluetooth enabled,we can send
videos,images,voice,document etc
from any communicating device
like(mobile phone,digital camera etc)
Bluetooth devices are wireless.
Bluetooth technology is inexpensive.
Low energy consumption
Bluetooth is automatic.
15. Disadvantages:-
Bluetooth devices cannot be
connected with more than one
devices at a time,as it finds problem
in discovering the intended recipients
device.
Bluetooth has low data rate i.e 1Mbps
in comparison to infra red i.e 4 Mbps.
16. Future of bluetooth:-
Many of us think that Bluetooth is
going to be here stay, but its wrong.
Bluetooth will be able to complete all
the other wireless technologies such
as WiFi,networking,infrared data
association etc.
