husband's desire for her to tell him .she loves him
without saying words.she finds so dificult to say.
This scene displays Mrs. Ramsay's ability to bring to
gether disparate things into whole.

● Lily as a role model for women. She defies the
patriarchy society.
● Lily ignores the patriarchal rules and the aims to
take her social role with her to becoming an
artist.
● Lily is srugglling female character.
● She represents an idealized feminist woman who
challanges male hegemony to achieve a sense of
individuality.

the novel serves to establish her role as a trulley
liberated female artist.
Conclusion:
The desire to break away from conventional female
cultural norms and stereotypes in order to achieve
autonomy can only be fully realized when she
experience the vision after the complrtition of her
painting at the end of the novel.
