Students of Welingkar College succeed to win 2nd place at 'Shankhnaad 2011' at IIT Madras campus held on the 1st April, 2011.The event comprised of two rounds from which second round was presentation on a detailed road map to execution, viability of the idea and socio-economic impact of the idea. Presenting on such an out of the ordinary topic was a fascinating experience for them. They managed to win through, in spite of the strong contenders involved, like IIM Shillong, JBIMS, NMIMS and WeSchool, Mumbai. The jury and the audience were thoroughly impressed with their presentation style. These students added one more pleasing performance to Welingkar’s Winning history.

There were 5 teams shortlisted in total all over India. They were from IIM Shillong,
JBIMS, NMIMS and WeSchool, Mumbai
Jury: Mr. T.S Krishna Murthy, ex- Chief Election Commissioner and HoD of
Dept of Management Studies at IIT Madras.
Round 1: Submission of an executive summary on an idea to achieve India 2020
Round 2 at IIT Madras Campus: Presentation on a detailed road map to execution,
viability of the idea and socio-economic impact of the idea.
